Picking up a package of these disposable face clothes for my European travels was one of the best ideas I had during my whole trip.
While these wipes are certainly not a replacement for a proper skin cleaning routine, they do work great for those times when you need to wash your face but don’t have access to a proper bathroom (or don’t feel like washing your face in an Italian service station washroom).
Made with a surprisingly durable paper “cloth”, these wipes do a thorough job at taking off makeup and daily grim, leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed.
As the name suggestions, they are made with tea tree oil, two types according to the packaging, and these ingredients are supposed to: “Minimize breakouts, tone your skin and unclog pores with a convenient, one-step wipe that sweeps away make-up, impurities and excess oil.”
I won’t agree with the “unclog pores” part, unfortunately these clothes didn’t help out in that area, but they did allow me to quickly clean my face and, combined with a semi-regular skin routine, did help prevent breakouts.
The wipes also contain Tamanu oil, which supposedly soothe skin and “calm irritation and redness” and to this claim I say, “Sure.” Redness/irritation has never been a problem for me and these clothes didn’t cause any issues for me.
However, I can see how they might irritate some people’s skin, as well as some people’s noses. This product has a very distinctive, and somewhat strong, scent and because of that, I recommend taking a good sniff of it (or any of the other products that make up The Body Shop’s tea tree oil line) before you buy a package.
And speaking of buying this item, be aware that it isn’t that cheap. It runs $12 for a package of 24 wipes, which is fine for travelling, or maybe to use after the occasional gym outing, but a bit pricey for everyday use.
Would I buy this again: Yes.
Should you buy it: As long as you’re good with the scent, go with it.
