Stuff Lindsay Bought: Agency One Fall/Winter Sample Sale

Are you a size small/size 4? Do you appreciate interesting-looking clothing and a great deal? If so, you're going to want to check out the Agency One Fall/Winter sample sale, taking place from now until November 16 in the back half of Pop Up 120 (located at, surprise, 120 Ossington).

There are some amazing deals to be had, with everything from winter coats to beaded skirts to leather dresses available at 60%-85% off retail. There are even several $20 tables that are overflowing with everything from fuzzy sweaters to coloured jeans. Despite the staff's best efforts, these tables are a bit chaotic but hey, isn't digging through a pile of clothing for that perfect deal just part of the fun of a sample sale?

I spotted items by Something Else by Natalie Wood, Religion, Ganni, Twenty 8 Twelve, Gestuz and Stylestalker but the promo material I received tells me that items by Linda Farrow, Buddhist Punk, Muuba and more will also be available. The clerk I spoke with told me that Agency One has boxes and boxes of merch set aside for this sale that will be unpacked as needed, so this is one of those events that you might want to make multiple trips to.

This is not the first year for this sale but it is the first time that it's taking place in this space, which I was told is smaller than the previous location. It is a bit squishy but as long as there aren't too many other shoppers there, you can move around just fine. However, if this sale gets busy, things are going to be very tight. Because of that, if you want to check this sale out, try to go during a weekday, like I did.

While this sale has all the hallmarks of a typical sample sale — incredible deals, limited size options and a barebones setting — it is missing the communal dressing room. Instead, individual dressing rooms have been created off to one side. But while these rooms do provide privacy, they don't have mirrors. If you want to see how something looks, you'll have to venture out into the main sale space and fight for mirror space alongside everyone else. W

While the bulk of the items for sale are smalls/size 4s, there are a few larger items, as well as some great, and dirt cheap, leather bags and belts. I did up picking up two items, a star-patterned black tank for $20 (normally $60) and a little leather bag by Ganni for $15 (also normally $60). With tax, my total was just until $40. And had I remembered to use my Style Democracy coupon, I could have saved 10%. But while I didn't use the coupon, you can! Here it is:
