Crest 3D White Whitestrips Advanced Vivid

I was a bit gushy in my last post so today I’m going to write about a product that didn’t impress me: Crest 3D White Whitestrips Advanced Vivid.

Now, I should start by saying that I’ve tried at-home teeth whitening products in the past (including an older version of this one) and only ever experienced a slight improvement in whiteness. Unfortunately, this product produced the same lackluster results.

I did follow the instructions, applying the two stripes to my unbrushed teeth for 30 minutes every day but after three days, no change. By day four, I think there was some improvement but there was also some definite increase in tooth sensitivity (something the instructions do warn you about).

By the end of the 14-day period there was a slight improvement in colour but honestly, it wasn’t very noticeable and certainly not worth the $50 that this product can run (thankfully I got it on sale for about $35).

I will say that the Whitestripes did form a very tight seal; sometimes almost too tight as there were a few times when I really had to yank the stripe off. And Crest does offer a money-back guarantee, something I should have looked into before I threw out the box.

Given my past history with teeth whitening stuff, maybe it’s me and not these products. There are people out there who have had positive results with these stripes and, if in the past, you’ve had luck with similar items you might have to give these stripes a try. Or you might want to save yourself $45 and just go with a good whitening toothpaste instead.

Would I buy this again: No
Should you buy it: Only if you've previously had success with these types of products

  1. I have had success with the original white stips in the past but they make my teeth so sensitive that it has made me not want to use them again.
