Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express

So according to this item’s packaging, The Falsies give you a “False lash effect”, a claim that I find to be more than a bit false.

Yes, this mascara did visibility lengthen my lashes and, much to my pleasure, it also clearly separated and defined them, but it certainly didn’t give me the look of false lashes.

Not that that’s necessary a bad thing. Oftentimes false lashes just look cheap and cheesy. This mascara meanwhile just makes it look like you have lovely, long lashes.

Maybelline generally has a great reputation when it comes to mascaras and The Falsies continues that tradition. Like other Maybelline mascaras, this one goes on fairly clump-free and lasts all day without flaking.

Personally, I’ve never been a fan of Maybelline’s beloved Great Lash; it just couldn’t give my lashes the lift and volume that L’Oreal mascaras could (even if those were more prone to clumping). And while The Falsies don’t add the same type of volume as say, L’Oreal’s Volumious mascara does, it does give my lashes a much better curl than Great Lash does.

Overall, this is a good day mascara. It doesn’t add quite the same drama as L’Oreal’s Lash Architect does but then it doesn’t smudge as easily and is easier to wash off. And since it’s a Maybelline product, it’s reasonably priced and readily available.

Would I buy this again: Yes
Should you buy it: Yes
