Rusk’s Pro Elements Smoothing Treatment

I discovered this stuff while snooping through my mother’s bathroom and decided to give it a try.

Produced by Rusk, Pro Elements Smoothing Treatment is essentially a hair mask that you leave on your head for at least three minutes, post-shampooing and conditioning.

Now, the Pantene shampoo and conditioner that I use at my parents’ place generally produces great though not amazing results. But after I used the Smoothing Treatment my hair truly did look amazing, and that was just letting it air dry.

Usually the claims made on a product’s packaging are at least 50% bull but I can’t say that about this item. It really did make my hair visibly shinier as well as made it feel softer. While I only used this product once, I have no doubt that weekly use would result in healthier, stronger hair.

The downside to the Smoothing Treatment is that it’s only available at salons and that of course means that it can be a bit of a pain to find. Thankfully, Rusk does have a salon locator page on its site.

Pricing will vary from salon-to-salon, but it seems to go for around $20, not a bad price for something that should last you at least a couple of months and actually delivers on its promises.

Would I buy this again: Yes
Should you buy it: Yes
