My Fall Luxe Box

The first-ever quarterly Luxe Boxes started arriving today and I was lucky enough to be included in the first wave.

Thanks to some very smart, and very elegant, new packaging, my box was able to fit inside my condo mailbox, meaning no need for me to have to wait a day to retrieve it from the mean people at my post office.

And what was inside my pretty box? A silky white scarf that held the following:

  • blinc mini-mascara (deluxe size sample)
  • Eyeko skinny liquid eyeliner (full size)
  • Paco Robanne Lady Million Fragrance (deluxe size sample)
  • B. Kamins Nia-stem eye cream (3g)
  • China Glaze nail lacquer in On Expedition  (full size)
  • Kérastase Elixie Utime (5ml)
  • Exfoliating pad

If I had received all of the above in the old, monthly box, I would have been ecstatic. But to be completely honest, I was expecting more from the new quarterly format. Not necessarily more stuff, seven samples is a good number, but bigger sample sizes and/or more variety. Of the seven items I received, three of them are eye-oriented.

Also, considering all of the drama that surrounded Luxe Box’s switch from a monthly box to a quarterly one, I thought that Loose Button, the company behind Luxe Box, would really try to wow its members with this first box. But the only thing that really wowed me was the packaging.

That’s not to say that I don’t like my box. No, I quite like all of the things it contains and will use all of them.  I’m particularly interested in trying out the mascara (it’s the kind that uses tubes) and the nail polish.  And thanks to past Luxe Box samples, I’m already a fan of Lady Million Fragrance.

Based on what people have been posting on Facebook, Loose Button is continuing to send out a wide range of products. Some lucky people received Marcelle’s BB Cream while other not-so-lucky people got Sally Hansen nail decals. Based on what I’ve seen, I have to say that I have a pretty good box; one that I think earns a solid B+.

I was hoping for one that would earn an A+ but really, a B+ is pretty good.

(And in case you’re wondering, the samples do cover the cost of this box. The full-size eyeliner retails for $18 while the nail polish is about $5 so those two products alone almost cover the $25 cost of my box.)

  2. So much better that you don't have to pick it up at the post office (I think being mean is a required trait to work there).

    1. I got three of the products that were in your luxebox:
      > exfoliating scrub
      > eyeliner
      > kerastase

i was one of the unlucky ones that received the nail decals, I don't dislike them but these ones look like tiger stripes.

      Loved the packaging too..
