Herbal Essences Naked Volume Soufflé

In addition to the shampoo and conditioner that I received as part of my Herbal Essences Naked Volume BzzAgent campaign pack, I also received a full-sized bottle of the line’s Volumizing Soufflé.

While “soufflé” makes this product sound like something fancy, it’s really just mousse though I don’t think I can call it the old-fashion kind. Like all of the other products in Herbal Essences new Naked line, this product is also “free of silicones and dyes.”

It’s also all about volume. According to Herbal Essences, this product is a, “weightless, volumizing leave-in conditioner gives you lift for fullness that lasts.” And while I wouldn’t call this item a “leave-in conditioner” as it neither boosted shine or fought frizz (plus it comes in an aerosol can), it definitely added in volume.

To prove this, I tried to take a photo of the results of my split-head test. Unfortunately, I suck taking selfies and couldn't get a decent photo. So you're just going to have to trust me when I say that a couple squirts of this product through one side of my wet hair left it with visibly more volume and life than the other side of my head, which didn't get any product. But it didn't add in too much volume; my hair was never poofy nor did the soufflé weigh down my strands.

This product does have a nice, light scent to it that Herbal Essences describes as “white grapefruit and mint.” It is “invigorating” but sadly, it doesn’t last and is gone within a few minutes of applications.

As I mentioned earlier, this product does come in an aerosol can. It’s easy to use and even when I put quite a bit in, my hair still felt and looked light and loose; it was never greasy, stiff or otherwise weird.

As with all of the products in the Naked Volume line, this one is also quite affordable, coming in at under $7.

Would I buy this product: If I find that I’m regularly using this product then yep, I’ll pick it up.

Should you buy this product: If your hair could do with a little more oomph, then yes.

***Just to be 100% clear, I received these products for free but don't worry, that didn't influence my opinion.***
