Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

I’m always thrilled when I find a product that does pretty much exactly what it says it’ll do. Burt Bee’s Tinted Lip Balm is one of the rare products that falls into that category. (And no, I’m not just saying that because I received this product for free from a member of the Burt’s Bees street team.)

Burt Bee’s says that this product delivers “a whole lot of conditioning” and I completely agree. I can apply this balm and two, even three hours later, my lips still feel soft, hydrated and very happy. According to Burt’s Bees, this balm delivers all that moisture thanks to its inclusion of shea butter and botanical waxes.

Unfortunately the colour provided by this product doesn’t last two-to-three hours but then Burt’s Bees doesn’t make any claims about that. Instead, it says that this balm “adds a hint of natural colour” and again, I agree.

This is no overnight, miracle product but if you’re patient and use it for at least three weeks, two-four times a week, this face scrub does seem to “help reduce blemishes and prevent future breakouts”, as per Burt’s Bees’ claim for this product.

While initially I wasn’t overly impressed with this scrub, which uses willow bark-derived salicylic acid to battle pimples , now, over three weeks into use, I do have the “refined, clear and smooth skin” that this product promised me.

And best of all I did it without irritating or over-drying my skin. Too often any anti-blemish products rob the skin of too much oil, leaving it dry and unhappy. But this one, which also uses “a natural fruit acid complex,” truly did provide “gentle exfoliating results.”

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleanser & Daily Moisturising Cream for sensitive skin

But while I might have received these products for free, I promise that that fact won’t bias my opinion of them.

With that out of the way, let’s talk about the products. Both are very much aimed at those with sensitive skin and are fragrance free, hypo-allergenic, allergy-tested, non-comedogenic , dermatologist-tested and made of 99% natural ingredients. While these qualities don’t guarantee that these products will work for everyone, sensitive skin is something that’s very personalized after all, they’re a great start. Both products also contain an easy-to-read ingredients list, which is another key quality any sensitive skin product should have.
