PC The Decadent Molten Chocolate Cakes & PC White Cheddar & Rosemary Flavoured Mini Cheese Crackers

The President’s Choice line is responsible for some very yummy things however, every now and then it doesn’t quite hit the mark. Recently, I came across two PC products that I will not be picking up again.

The first is the PC The Decadent Molten Chocolate Cakes. According to the reviews on this page, people love these things but personally, I found them bland and rather disappointing. The chocolate ganache centre is tasty, I’ll give them that, but it’s not enough to make up for the dry cake that surrounds it and there isn’t enough chocolate to saturate the cake into something I want to eat.

Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by some really high quality lava cakes in the past but these ones just aren’t worth my money.

PC White Cheddar & Rosemary Flavoured Mini Cheese Crackers is the second product I’ll be passing on the next time I’m in Loblaws. While I’m disappointed in the lava cakes, I’m even more disappointed in these crackers because while I know I can get tasty lava cakes elsewhere, I’ve never heard of white cheddar and rosemary crackers before. And doesn’t that combination sound so good? Three things I love to eat, all combined into one simple snack.

Unfortunately, the seasoning on these crackers isn’t quite right. It doesn’t taste like cheese or rosemary or really anything tasty. Initially, I couldn’t figure out how to describe this flavour but then I read the reviews on this product. Someone said that she found the crackers to be artificial tasting and I think that’s completely right. While these crackers do contain real rosemary and cheese, it tastes fake.

I still though like the idea of these crackers. Maybe PC just needs to take them back to the lab and refine the recipe a bit.

Would I Buy This Again: No.
Should You Buy It: No.
