I was first introduced to this shade by the makeup artist who did my makeup for my wedding. She picked this brownish-pinkish colour because it works perfectly with my skin tone and adds some life to my lips while still keeping things natural looking. To up the drama level a bit, she then applied a clear gloss over this matte lipstick, a trick I use whenever I wear this lipstick out at night.
But during the day, I wear this lipstick just on its own and, because the colour is so natural looking, I can wear it with pretty much anything.
Besides loving the colour, I also love how this lipstick feels on my lips. It goes on creamy, stays creamy-feeling for a bit and then feels like I have nothing on.
If I can manage not to lick or chew on my lips, this lipstick does a great job at staying in place. Yeah, it always fades a bit but if I used a lip liner and did my lips properly, instead of just quickly applying some lipstick, it would last longer (or so makeup pros tell me).
At just under $20, this isn’t a badly priced product, particularly when you consider how versatile it is. Besides looking great on its own, it can be easily combined with a range of glosses and even other lipsticks to create a colour and look that works for whatever occasion I need it for.
Would I buy this again: Already have.
Should you buy it: Yes but don't worry if Half 'N Half doesn't sound like shade that would work for you; MAC offers dozens of other options.
