Mereadesso is a line that’s about, “Simplicity, ease, and effectiveness.” It consists of four products that
are supposed to do it all when it comes to skin care and two of those items, the Face + Neck Toning Gel and the Beautiful Body Balm, were included in my February Luxe Box.
Let’s start with the gel, which isn’t a gel at all. Texture-wise, it’s a milky lotion that goes on with a bit of a sticky feeling. Thankfully, this sensation doesn’t last very long. However, the same cannot be said for the shine that this product left on my face. My face didn’t feel sticky but it did look it and because of that, there’s no way I would ever apply this product and then head out into public.
I did though wear this lotion out under makeup, which hid the shine and went out easily, so I will give this product full points for being makeup friendly.
And at $120 a bottle it’s not budget friendly. At that price, this would have to be the greatest face care product ever and it’s just not. Maybe, just maybe, if it was a super-amazing product that really did do it all I would consider buying it but really, I didn’t find this lotion to be a particularly amazing skin care product. While it did help a patch of surface dryness, it didn’t eliminate it, nor did it have any impact on pimples or fine lines. Plus, it doesn’t contain an SPF so there’s no way it could ever become a one-stop moisturizer.
Oh, and it smells and not in a good way. It’s not a lingering odor but you will definitely notice it when you go to apply it to your skin. It kind of reminded me of Play-Doh but with something else in the mix.
The Beautiful Body Balm also has a distinctive smell but thankfully, it’s one that I like: lemons. But I can see how some people might find it too strong or too similar to a certain brand dish soap.
I much prefer this product over the face gel. It has a richer, creamier texture and none of the gel’s issues with stickiness or shine. It’s also a better moisturizer. After just a few days use, I could clearly see an improvement in the appearance of my skin. In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that this product costs $54 I would happily purchase it.
Both products contain amazing lists of ingredients. It’s just a shame that they don’t work as well as I would like them to.
Would I buy this again: No.
Should you buy it: No to the gel but if you’ve got money to burn, the body balm is quite nice.
