The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream

Consider this a “partial” review as I only tested this daily moisturizer for about a week, instead of my usual two (or more) testing period for face creams.

According to The Body Shop’s webpage on this product, it’s a great loved item that, “…has the lightness of a lotion with the moisturising benefits of a cream. It helps protect the skin, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and healthy-looking.”

My biggest problem with this product is that is doesn’t have any SPF in it and because of that, I completely disagree with the “…helps protect the skin…” claim.

But I do agree with the line about this moisturizer leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. This lotion did leave my face feeling great. It also absorbed quickly and shine-free into my skin and behaved nicely under whatever I put over it, including sunscreen.

Unfortunately, I didn’t notice it having any real impact on the overall condition of my skin. I was dealing with some dry patches on/around my nose and sadly this moisturizer didn’t visually help things. On the plus side, it didn't make things worse and didn’t cause any pimples or blackheads.

Again, I did only try this product out for a week, which really isn’t that long. Maybe if I’d given it another week or two I would have noticed a clear improvement in my skin’s texture.

Would I buy this:  If it included sun protection I would definitely pick this product up but since it doesn’t, I’m going to pass on it.

Should you buy it: At $16 for a 50 ml the price is right and I do think that there is something to this product. However, if you’re going to try it out make sure to pair it with a good sunscreen.
