Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Treatment

You know you’re not dealing with a great product when you find yourself looking in the mirror and questioning whether or not you did put it on because it sure looks like you didn't.

Korres’ Pomegranate Mattifying Treatment is supposed to provide long-lasting, mattifying and pore-minimizing but every time I apply this product, and I've been using it off and on since early November, I have to remind myself that yes, I did put it on, because I just don’t see any results when I use this item.

Korres makes some big claims for this product, “Breathable, oil absorbing formula to minimize the look/appearance of pores and redness and leave skin with a smooth, matte finish throughout the day.” says the product description over on the brand’s website. Unfortunately, the only one I found to be true is the “breathable” one.

I even did some split face tests, where I applied this product to just one half of my face. Based on Korres’ claims, the side that’s using this treatment should have been smooth, matte and free of shine and redness. But unfortunately it always looked just like the other side that wasn't using this treatment.

The web write-up for this product also highlights its instant and long-term benefits. I didn't notice the instant ones, “fills in pores to create a smooth, even skin surface texture” and because of that, I couldn't stick with the product to see if, over an eight week period, the overall appearance of my skin improved while the visibility of my pores and redness was reduced (Korres says that the vast majority of participants in a clinical, self-assessment study noticed these results though beyond that, there are no details of this research).

This product is packed with some great and effective ingredients, including willow bark extract, rice starch and of course, pomegranate, but on my skin, they just don’t do much of anything.

Will I buy this product: Nope, it just didn't work for me.

Should you buy this product: At over $40, this isn't really one of those products you can comfortably pick up just to see if it works. Because of that, skip this item unless you can get a sample of it to try out.
