Benefit Puff Off

I find that Benefit products really vary in quality. Sometimes they are great and sometimes, not so great. Puff Off is, despite its cute name and packaging, unfortunately in the latter category.

This “innovative undereye gel” supposedly creates a “satiny smooth” undereye area that is free of “puffies and fine lines.” According to a, “Consumer panel survey on 31 women after seven days,” “94 per cent said eye area looks smoothed.” If I was in this panel, I would have been in the six per cent that didn’t see results.

Now, I should note that undereye puffiness and fine lines aren’t a real issue for me. Maybe if you have really bad puffiness or fine lines, this product helps but it certainly had minimal impact on my skin and there was definitely no “instant PUFFormance.”

It did feel quite nice on. Benefit claims that this product “cools on contact” and that I completely agree with. It also glided on easily and didn’t leave any kind of shine. But beyond that, it didn’t do much of anything and I’m glad I didn’t buy this product as it runs $35 at Sephora.

The full-sized version of this product features a flat, “custom “ironing” tip” that’s supposed to help you iron out puffiness and fine lines. My sample tube didn’t have this tip but I don’t feel like I’m missing out. While the “iron” idea definitely looks fun and cute, I can’t believe that it actually has any real impact on skin.

Would I buy this product: No.

Should you buy this product: Not if you only have mild issues with fine lines or puffiness.
