THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Fresh Cleansing Form

It's been over a month since I started using THEFACESHOP's Chia Seed Fresh Cleansing Form as my primary face wash and I think that's enough time to make a verdict on this product. I should note now that I received this wash for free from THEFACESHOP when I attended that chain's launch party. But just because I received this product for free doesn't mean that I'll be going easy on it.

I couldn't find this product on THEFACESHOP's website (which desperately needs an overhaul) so I don't know what exactly the claims are for this product apart from the tube's mention of it being a "Foam cleanser that deeply cleanses your pores."

I also recall from the launch party that the chia line is aimed at people with combination skin, which is what I have. Between that and my love of cleaned our pores, this should be the perfect cleanser for me but sadly, the results say otherwise.

The good news is that this wash never irritated my skin and while I did experience a few small, dry patches, I don't blame that on the wash. But it also wasn't very good at cleaning out my pores. It did remove makeup and surface dirt but getting deep down into my pores? Yah, that didn't happen. As a result, I did experience a few blemishes while using this product.

While I wasn't a fan of the results, I did like the texture of this wash. It's soft and mousse-like, with just a touch of grit (the chia seeds perhaps?). It's not super-foamy but personally I don't like too much lather. It also rinsed off easily and completely and left my skin with a clean, soft feeling.

The scent was also fine. It's quite mild and sort of herbal-like and I think that most people would be okay with it.

Many of THEFACESHOP's products are quite cheap so I was surprised that this one comes in at $24 or $26. For that price, you get a moderate product in moderate packaging; the container is just your standard plastic squeeze tube.

Would I buy this product: No; it didn't wow me.

Should you buy this product: I feel that you can safely pass on this one.
