Annabelle Volume Lip Plumping Gloss

The Annabelle Volume Lip Plumping Gloss featured in this post’s photo is a product I won; I never, never in a million years would have picked out the bright pink shade that I ended up with. But while this colour looks just plain tacky in the tube, it actually goes on quite subtly and is rather pretty.

That’s the first pleasant surprise that this product gave me. The other is that despite marketing itself as a “lip plumping gloss”, it didn’t burn, tingle or in any other way irritate my lips.

As far I can tell, the only way this gloss plumps your lips is by covering them in a shiny, almost glimmering coat of gloss. So no, it doesn’t actually plump them, but it does make your lips look a bit fuller and certainly nicer than if you weren’t wearing the gloss.
But while the product has some great traits, it also has some faults, the biggest one being that while it doesn’t look heavy on your lips, it certainly feels heavy. Heavy and sticky. So yeah, the texture’s not the greatest.

I’m also not very impressed with the packaging. It’s too long and the lid is difficult to remove and put on. But at $8.50, it’s no surprise that this gloss doesn’t come in the greatest packaging.

It does however come in 10 different colours. While these colours don’t look like much in a photo, if they’re anything like the “bright pink” shade that I ended up with, they actually might be quite nice.

Would I buy this again: Yeah, I might give another colour a try.
Should you buy it: If you don’t mind your gloss on the sticky side, go for it.
