Institut Esthederm Lift & Repair Absolute Smoothing Cream

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, a high price doesn’t equal an amazing product. Institut Esthederm Lift & Repair Absolute Smoothing Cream costs $139 for 50 ml, or so says the product details card that came with the Topbox that also contained this cream.

I’ve been using this cream once-to-twice a day on my forehead, and sometimes elsewhere on my face, for over three weeks now. During that time I have seen absolutely no change in the feel or appearance of my skin (well, no positive changes).

I focused this product on my forehead because that’s the only place where I really have any lines (thanks bad vision!). Institut Esthederm says that this product is for, “Women aged 35 and above who want instantly younger-looking skin with lasting results,” I’m not over 35 but I do want a smooth forehead that stays that way. Unfortunately this cream doesn’t seem to be helping me reach that goal.

This “triple action” product supposedly, “Tightens the features, instantly and lastingly diminishes wrinkles and fine lines and restores radiance.” While wrinkles and loose skin aren’t (yet) an issue for me, I was hoping that this cream would deliver on its claims of  “smoothed” skin and “diminished” fine lines and signs of fatigue.” But nope, my skin looked the same.

I was hoping that at minimum, this cream, which does have a pleasant, rich texture, would temporarily plump up my forehead lines and make them vanish. But again, it did nothing.

Actually, “nothing” isn’t correct. While using this cream I did experience three pimples on my forehead (including one particularly nasty one that my skin is still recovering from). For me, that’s a lot, especially since prior to using this product, my forehead had been clear since, probably July.

I do think that this is a fairly rich cream that did provide some hydration, though not in a way that was appropriate for my skin. As a result, I ended up with clogged pores and eventually pimples.

For its high cost, you’d think that this product would at least come in packaging that was attractive and smartly designed but nope. Instead you just get your classic open mouth jar; perfect for letting air, germs and oils into this pricey product.

Would I buy this product: No way.

Should you buy this product: An easy “no.”
