Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream

My day job is in the music industry and often involves long hours and late nights. As a result, under-eye circles are occasionally an issue for me. When a deluxe-sized sample of Benefit’s It’s Potent! Eye Cream arrived in my February Topbox, I thought that maybe I had found my solution.

According to Benefit, this eye cream, “…fades dark circles and helps smooth fine lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes.” It does this thanks to its inclusion of peptide complex, which is, “…known to help restore elasticity and firmness” and “a blend of hydrating botanical extracts and loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage.”
Initially I used this product under both of my eyes but then I decided that the best way for me to see if this cream was really making a difference was to only use it under one eye. So, since early March, I’ve been applying this product under my left eye once-twice a day.

The results? Nothing. Based on my careful, and multiple, examinations, the skin under my eyes looks exactly the same. Dark circles aren’t any lighter, or less common, under my left eye and both areas look and feel the same when it comes to brightness, texture and fine lines.

I will say that this is a very nice feeling cream. It’s cool, silky and absorbs quickly and completely. 

Maybe this product isn’t delivering on its claimed results because of its poor packaging? I’ll admit, the glass jar looks quite attractive but open-mouth containers are never a product’s friend as they allow air, as well as dirty, oily fingers, easy, degrading access.

 At $40, this product isn’t cheap, which makes its lack of results just that bit more disappointing.
