Tresemmé Beauty-full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner, Shampoo & Volume & Softness Hair Maximizer

The hair care market is a crowded one. To stand out, brands often push a hot new ingredient. But for its Beauty-full Volume collection, Tresemmé has taken a different approach. Instead of boasting about an exotic oil or a patented molecule, the company has revamped the entire hair washing process.

Instead of the usual shampoo-conditioner-styling product process, this line uses something called the Reserve Wash system, which starts off with the Pre-wash Conditioner. That's then followed by the shampoo and then the process is finished off with the styling product. This approach is supposed to result in "soft, touchable, voluminous hair."

My First Glam Sense Box

Last month beauty subscription service Topbox launched its Glam Sense program, which sends selected subscribers a free box of goodies to try out and review. I was lucky enough to be included as a reviewer and today my first Glam Sense box arrived.

This initial campaign is for Tresemmé's new Beauty-Full Volume line, which I hadn't heard of until now (so look, the campaign is already raising awareness). My box contained three products, all designed to deliver "soft, touchable voluminous hair." But they weren't the usual shampoo/conditioner/styling products that I expected.

While this line makes some very familiar promises, its approach to delivering on those promises is quite different. Beauty-Full Volume uses a process that it calls the "Reverse Wash System." Instead of starting with your usual shampoo, the first step is something called the "pre-wash conditioner." It's then followed by a shampoo and the whole processed is finished off with a styling product that Tresemmé calls "Maximizer" (that sounds a bit intense).

It's an interesting approach and one that I'm looking forward to trying out. Glam Sense smartly sent out full-sized containers, which means I have enough product to properly test this line out. Because of that, I'm going to use this product for at least two weeks before I type up my reviews.

TRESemmé Platinum Strength Shampoo & Conditioner

TRESemmé’s been one busy company this year. Back in March, it released its new Keratin Smooth Collection, which  I reviewed over here. This month this company’s focus is on its Platinum Strength line, which claims to “repair up to two years of damage in just five uses*.”

While this collection contains four products, I only got to try out the Strengthening shampoo and conditioner (I received my free samples in my SampleSource pack). Thankfully, the shampoo and conditioner are really all you need to test out this line’s main claim; at least that’s what I took away from the fine print beside the asterisk (“*In five uses when using Shampoo & Conditioner as a system vs non-Conditioning Shampoo").

TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Collection

First off, a disclaimer: I received my full-sized containers of TRESemmé Keratin Smooth shampoo, conditioner and heat protection spray for free as a Klout perk (for more on Klout, including how to join, head over here).  But don’t worry, just because I got this stuff for free doesn't mean I’ll be easy on it.

This new collection from TRESemmé, which is lower in sulphates than the company’s Smooth & Silky line, supposedly “…nourishes hair and infuses keratin from root to top” resulting in hair that's "...gorgeously smooth, shiny and managable" as well as “An instantly smoother style and frizz control that lasts for up to 48 hours.**”

TRESemmé FreshStart Dry Shampoo

This morning I woke up later than I had planned as the result of me not being able to properly set my alarm. Thankfully, I didn’t wake up too late but it was late enough that I didn’t have time for a shower.

This was bad because my hair was clearly greasy, even when I put it up in a ponytail. For a few moments, I thought about just jumping in the shower and showing up late for work but then I remembered that about a month ago I picked up TRESemmé’s Fresh Start Dry Shampoo for oily/straight to normal hair.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know that I had a negative experience in the past with a dry shampoo. But since this type of product is clearly needed in my life, I decided to try out TRESemmé’s version.
